NORTHERN LIGHTS · AURORAL OBSERVATIONS 1933–36
Plate 208 · 1937
Northern Lights Chart
Nobody had asked for an auroral chart. The house engraved it anyway, over three winters, from observations taken between the last evening tide and the first morning one. Where the sky refused to cooperate, the plate says so: blank areas carry the legend not observed, which is rarer and more useful than a guess. Sold out at publication in 1937; this is the 1974 commemorative restrike.
